THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO GAIN MAXIMUM FITNESS RESULTS IS THE EASIEST WAY TO DO: TAKE A REST!

You can expect an optimum result from your workout if you combine it with some rest days. It may sounds counterproductive not to workout your muscle to get it grow, but studies prove that resting is effective to increase your muscle mass

No matter how hard you train, your body needs sufficient time to repair and refuel. In the fitness world, a rest day is just as important as the workout itself. Regardless of the type of your workout, taking a day (or three) to recover is highly necessary, especially for your muscle growth. And here are some science-based reasons why taking a rest may optimize your fitness journey.

Your muscle is built while resting, not while training

You may be challenged to lift those heavy dumbbells, but rest day is not always being lazy on your cozy couch. Researchers have found that your muscle is built when your body is resting. Interestingly, rest is the time for you to break your muscle tissue and replenish the energy stores before your next workout.

You can remain active while resting day

As you understand that rest days play important role in developing muscles, you can still do some light exercises and stretches despite the strenuous workout you usually sweat yourself throughout the week. Try going for a walk, swimming, or riding a bike around the city. Alternatively, you can practice some yoga poses that can be useful for reducing pains and increasing flexibility.

Choose the right meal: protein

The most common problem most people have with their rest days is that they become cheat days! Arguably, choosing the right meal during your rest day is really important as exercise only counts 10-20% of the weight-loss equation: what we consume and rest is the other 80-90%! To help you out of this bad scenario, try to get enough amount of protein not only on your rest day but on your eating habit as well.
